Victor Community Church is a vibrant, growing family church in Victor, NY approximately 16 miles Southeast of Rochester in the Finger Lakes region. We worship God in an upbeat, contemporary style and teach straight from the Bible. Our focus is on Jesus Christ and learning to be more like Him. VCC was birthed/planted in 2008 because 23 people who attended Pittsford Community Church at the time desired a family church in their own community. They began by meeting regularly in homes and grew rapidly.  After a few years in 3 temporary locations, we found our current property where we created our fellowship’s home in 2016.
We are seeking an experienced, innovative, energetic, & relational leader of leaders to serve as our Youth Pastor.  There may be opportunity for this leader in a secondary area of ministry that fits calling and passions (sports, mission, social media, etc).  This person will contribute to our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share. 
 
Qualifications include:

• Strong sense of calling and identity in Christ

• Demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams and individuals

• Ability to engage a multi-generational and diverse church family

• Good oral and written communication skills

• A college degree is preferred

Summary
The Youth Pastor (YP) will provide a well-balanced ministry specifically for students in 6th through 12th grades at VCC.  This will help to accomplish our overall mission of making loving disciples of Jesus Christ who worship, grow, serve and share.
 
Responsibilities

1. Oversee all aspects of ministry to students in 6th through 12th grades at VCC

   1. Lead and oversee regular (weekly) youth group meetings.

   2. Develop and oversee curriculum for all programs

   3. Lead and oversee regular (8-10 annually) community/outreach/growth events.

   4. Provide and oversee special events (retreats) for focused growth.

   5. Provide regular connection opportunities during the week (not weekend)

   6. Provide opportunities for students to experience service and mission.

   7. Oversee all social media for Youth Ministry

   8. Oversee and provide consistent and effective communication to both students and parents

   9. Pray regularly for the students, families, and staff/volunteers in youth ministry

2. Develop teams to carry out ministry

   1. Recruit and empower youth leaders

   2. Recruit and empower support team(s)

   3. Provide training opportunity for staff/volunteers annually.

3. Be a good steward of all resources under your leadership

   1. Oversee assigned budget lines

   2. Oversee care, maintenance and storage of equipment, supplies, etc.

4. Participate in regular staff meetings and personal development opportunities

5. Perform other ministry tasks as needed

6. Perform a minimum of 40 hours weekly

 
Relationships

1. The YP works under the direction of and is accountable to the Lead Pastor

2. The YP will be the leader of those involved in the youth ministry

3. The YP must work harmoniously within the context of the staff team

4. The YP must work harmoniously with the congregation

5. The YP will become a member of VCC

6. The YP will network with other leaders in and around the community
